But Smart Women Always Bring Along the Flip Flops
The other night I went out and met a friend at a local restaurant. I love dressing up and wearing the 3” plus high heels, however, I know myself enough to know that when I have a few drinks in me, my feet swell up like a couple of loaves of bread. The shoes I wore that night are comfortable enough, but the design of the heels make me walk like I have had a few even before I have had a few. I wore them anyway, but since I am over 50 and know myself enough, I threw a pair of flip flops in my car. Sometimes, being more comfortable is better than looking hot -- however, vanity prevailed and I just had to walk in looking great!
I met my friend at the restaurant and had a few drinks – sure enough, my first trip to the bathroom caused me to walk like a drunken sailor! We decided to leave and go listen to a local band. Before we left, I went to my car to get the trusty old flip flops. After all, I didn’t want to “fall into” the bar! Relief! I switched to my flip flops and had a great and comfortable time that night – albeit about 3” shorter….
We left the bar and went back to the restaurant where my car was parked. In the parking space right next to my car was one stray flip flop… I kid you not! No, it wasn’t mine, although I had to check my feet to make sure I still had mine on. The photo below is the actual flip flop that was sitting in the parking spot next to my car. Well, I thought, there is another smart woman out there, however, makes you wonder how she lost it! I certainly hope she is alright!
Moral of the story: Go ahead and go forth and look HOT no matter what your age – make your entrance, but always, always, always don’t forget to throw a pair of flip flops in your car, BUT try to keep them on while you’re out having all of that fun and of course BE SAFE…
